99% of the animals who suffer at the hands of humans are farmed animals, yet they receive the least amount of attention and money in the entire animal welfare movement. At Animal Charity Evaluators, our solution is to provide research, recommendation, and education in order to help the greatest number of animals as efficiently and effectively as possible. We want to make sure your time and dollars are spent helping the most lives.
Research
To date, ACE has considered over 300 animal charities from around the world and currently recommends 3 Top and 10 Standout Charities to donors. In 2016, we launched an Animal Advocacy Research Fund and have awarded over $400,000 in grants which is launching studies that will inform all advocates. We host research symposiums and workshops to unite advocates with academics. We created a data repository for research related to effective animal advocacy. In addition, we have published several articles about foundational research questions, completed intervention reports, and interviewed leaders and experts in animal advocacy. In 2017, we launched an experimental research division to address important empirical questions in the animal advocacy movement.
Education
Through targeted online advertising, we have directed hundreds of thousands of people to our website to learn about how they can help the greatest number of animals. We produce educational videos aimed at explaining the concepts of effective animal advocacy to a broad audience. Our annual Guide to Effective Giving and other printed materials educate donors and conference attendees about easy ways to help animals. We also support those who work in the animal advocacy movement by publishing advice including survey guidelines and how to run an efficient HR department. Our research and findings have been featured in Huffington Post, Slate, The Guardian, Financial Times, TIME, Vox, and Salon.
Fundraising
Did you know that in for every $1 that ACE spent on their programs in 2016, they influenced over $9 to their recommended charities? ACE works to influence new philanthropists to support effective animal charities, thereby multiplying donations to support ACE programs.
